4-H Egg Prep Contest

Dates: May 1, 2008

Eligibility: 3-12 Grades

Team or Individual: Youth may choose to compete individually or in teams of two.

Registration Deadline:  April 24, 2008

Description:  Youth will demonstrate the preparation of a favorite egg dish and present a finished produce.  The demonstration will include the nutritional value of egg products in the diet, the recipe and preparation steps, and the finished product.

Next Steps:

  • County contestants in3-8 grades are invited to compete during Northern Regional Contests in June 2008.
  • Selected contestants in grades 9-12 will be invited to represent Salt Lake County in State Egg Prep competition.

Awards:  Each youth receives a certificate and earns a blue, red or white ribbons based on the Danish judging system:

·          Blue (excellent): 90-100

·          Red (good ): 75-89

·          White (fair): 74 and below

The 1st place Senior Division winner will receive a partial scholarship to compete in State 4-H Contests in July.
