4-H Entrepreneurship Contest

Dates:  March 27, 2008

Eligibility: Grades 6-12

Team or Individual:  Youth can compete individually or as a team of two.

Registration Deadline: March 24, 2008

Description:  Contestants will present a business plan concept to a panel of judges.  The concept should include the idea for a business, the purpose, target market, name, and idea of the finances needed to begin the venture.  Youth may choose to present an idea for a proposed business, or an actual business they have started.

Next Steps:

• Selected contestants in grades 9-12 will be invited to represent Salt Lake County in State Entrepreneurship Contest.

Awards:  Each youth receives a certificate and earns a blue, red or white ribbons based on the Danish judging system:

·          Blue (excellent): 90-100

·          Red (good ): 75-89

·          White (fair): 74 and below

The 1st place Senior Division winner will receive a partial scholarship to compete in State 4-H Contests in July.
