Date:  July 14-16, 2008

Eligibility: Grades 9-12. 

Description:  State 4-H Contests are held in July each year at Utah State University.  During this three-day, two-night event, delegates stay in dormitories on campus.  In addition to participation in contests, delegates enjoy a variety of fun activities and the awards banquet.

County Awards:  

Awards vary by contest. 

Please note that the State 4-H Office requires youth to be present during the State Contests Awards Breakfast, or they forfeit their awards.

• 1st place individuals or teams in county 4-H contests will earn a partial scholarship to compete in State 4-H Contests.
• All youth earning blue ribbon honors in county contests earn the opportunity to compete in State 4-H Contests (no scholarship awarded).

• A State 4-H Contest Orientation is held in the county each year to prepare delegates for this opportunity.  In 2008, the orientation date is Thursday, June 26, 2008.  This is a mandatory meeting for delegates and a parent/guardian.
• Generally, the State 4-H Office will update the rules and guidelines for all state contests by February of each year.  Look for a current revision date to ensure you are referring to the most recent guidelines.
