AG Day

Ag Day is part of the national "Ag in the Classroom" program and is sponsored by local agriculture organizations.  The purpose behind this project is to help children understand where food comes from and thus, the importance of agriculture in our society.

The field day gives students an opportunity to see a well managed farm as well as specific demonstrations on dairy, soil erosion, embryology, beef, pork, sheep and farm production.    They will also be able to touch/hold a variety of small farm animals.

Most of you are probably aware that we no longer have access to eggs from USU. Ag in the Classroom has made arrangements with Thanksgiving Point to supply 18 day incubated eggs at a cost of $3 per egg. They have to be ordered thru Ag in the Classroom at  http://extension.usu.edu/aitc/chicks/ and then click on “Obtaining eggs and incubators”. This site explains everything and is the only way to get them. If they call Thanksgiving Point they will just be referred to it
