Join us in our third year of Robotics Camp as we set out for a week of building and programming robots using the LEGO Mindstorms RCX.  Campers will learn mechanical design, construction, programming, and teamwork skills while using LEGO bricks, beams, gears, motors, and sensors to build a robot that can perform needed tasks on its own.

This year's theme is "Wilderness Dataloggers" where our mission is to help Green Geyser Wilderness Park recover from a severe storm that left the park in shambles. Campers will need to design, build, and program a robot to perform tasks such as salvaging a bridge, extracting microbe samples from a geyser, clearing rocks from the trail, placing a radio collar on a grizzly bear, and much more.

No previous robotics or programming experience required and all materials will be provided. Bring your own equipment if you have it.

Schedule:

Day 1 – Build first robot and program using Timing, then program using Touch Sensors.

Day 2 – Program using Light Sensor, then Rotation Sensor, then multiple sensors to follow a line.

Day 3 – Start running simple missions on the game board

Day 4 – On the game board running missions
